2 ounces rye whiskey
½ ounce Benedictine (see note above)
½ ounce fresh juice from 1 lemon
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add rye, Benedictine, and lemon juice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into cocktail glass and serve.
