Airports

There are two airports in Los Angeles that we'd recommend to our guests. If you're coming from east of the Mississippi, we recommend LAX. If you're coming from more westerly parts, we recommend BUR.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is obviously a huge international airport with flights from pretty much anywhere. It's a big airport, so it can be kind of busy/crazy. Travel time from LAX to the wedding/hotels can range from 30 minutes (in the middle of the night) to over an hour (during rush hour). Expect about 45 minutes all other times. (Note for our friends coming from DC: there is exactly one non-stop flight between DCA and LAX. It is run by Alaska Airlines and code-shared by Delta.)

Burbank Airport (BUR) is a much smaller airport with fewer flights and carriers (and a lot of Southwest flights). But it's still a full-service airport (with rental cars and the like), so if you can get a good flight into Burbank, we'd recommend it over LAX. BUR is a 20-45 minute drive from where the wedding will be (again, traffic varies according to time of day).

Rental Cars

You will need a car during your trip. There's really no way around it. We're exploring options to shuttle our guests from the hotels to the wedding, but even with that, you will need a car to do everything else. Unless you plan to stay in your hotel the whole time, you'll be well-served with a rental car.

Hotels

We have hotel blocks at two area hotels: the Holiday Inn Woodland Hills and the Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills. The blocks expire on August 6th, so be sure to book your hotel room before then.

Rooms for the Schaffer/Camfield block at the Holiday Inn are $89/night (with free parking + taxes) and can be booked by clicking here. If you have any trouble with the link, you can use the group code "scw" (without the quotation marks).

Rooms for the Schaffer/Camfield block at the Marriott are $109/night (+ $13/night parking + taxes) and can be booked by clicking here. If you have any trouble with the link, you can use the group code "scwscwa" (without the quotation marks).

The Holiday Inn is certainly the more economical of the two options and is very nice. There is a pool, fitness center, and restaurant on site, and there are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance. The Holiday Inn also operates a free shuttle to take hotel guests anywhere within a 7 mile radius. They also have free internet!

The Marriott, though more expensive, is a larger hotel with more amenities. There's a restaurant, bar, pool, fitness center, and most standard hotel services you can think of. The Marriott is across the street from a local mall, which has a movie theater and several restaurants.
