Non-stanard Italian Menu (week of July 13)

Crab Carbonara - yummy, but really would benefit from fresh peas

Wild mushroom and mozzarella risotto cakes - excellent but a bit hard to form and fry

Seared tuna salad

Asparagus and prosciuttio fritatta (we used green beans)

Kinda-Healthy Southern Week

Crabmeat Remick with artichoke -- we used a combination of canned and fake crabmeat. It might've been better with fresh lump crabmeat, but not actually worth it.

Menu for the week of July 5

This week was dedicated to staying cool.

Monday - Grilled Tuna Steak (in a variety of ways)

Tuesday - Salad night

Wednesday - We caved and went to Seventh Hill. what can we say, if their chalk menu says "duck prosciutto", we go.

Thursday - Gazpacho

Friday - Ceviche with a mango salsa and popcorn

Spanish food week: July 18

Audrey got me a Jose' Andres cookbook for Channukkah, and we've barely cracked it. So most of these recipes are coming from there to put together a Spanish week:

Sunday: Seafood paella

Monday: Ajo blanco (a cold almond and garlic soup)

Tuesday: Chickpeas and Chorizo (via Tex-Mix

A Tasty Breakfast

Pan seared tamale breakfast with fresh fruit

We came to the realization that if we want to preserve treats from this summer for the winter, then we need space to do that. We've done pretty well on our house-canned goods, but lacking a Freezer of Unusual Size (I don't think they exist), this meant we had to find uses for some items stored away in there currently.

Sunday - (Grilling steak - dry-aged for 4 days in the fridge)

Monday - Eating out at America Eats' last week

Tuesday - Fattoush Salad

Wednesday - Burgers and corn for July 4

Thus - Grilled spiced eggplant

Fri - Brick Chicken

Week of July 13: Mediterranean/Persian week

Spiced Eggplant with Bulgar salad

Sat: Lamb chops with mint something
Sun: Chicken Kabab with shallot/yogurt sauce and Tabbouleh
Mon: Leftover tabbouleh and hummus with pita pockets, dolmades
Tues: Shirazi salad w/leftover chicken kebab

Paella

Sat: Spanish Tortilla with Salad
Sun: Paella [Make Gazpacho]
Mon: Gazpacho with Salad
Tues: Paella leftovers
Wed: Leftover Gazpacho and Tortilla
Thus: Out
Fri: Tapas

Chicken Enchiladas - mixed

Sun: Carne Asada with Corn, Grilled Red Onion, Bell Pepper, Squash
Mon: Chicken Enchiladas with Salad or Veg
Tue: Vegetarian Taco Salad with Corn, Avocado, and Black Beans
Wed: Leftover Carne Asada
Thu: Chicken Breast, Rice, and Black Beans and Veg
Fri: Leftover Chicken Enchilada

Fri:  I'm sure there will still be brisket left
